This gown is designed by Liz Martinez for BHLDN. A true to fit size 0 with a totally mesh bodice & sequin lace detail to create an illusion plunging neckline. Open back with a hook&eye closure at the back of neck. Layers of ivory & champagne tulle create a full skirt, the very top layer of tulle creates a short train. I had a waterfall bustle added with 3 hook&eyes to secure at the top of the skirt. The nude lining of the skirt was very light and would get caught between my legs when I walked, which then made the layers of tulle get caught as I walked, so my tailor added a band of horsehair along the hem to keep the shape of the skirt and this made the skirt lay and twirl beautifully without ever getting caught between my legs.
I wore the gown for my bridal portraits in the snow for about 15 minutes, and again during our indoor ceremony & reception which was about 6 hours. It was raining that day so the lining did get wet when I walked outdoors but not damaged, my mother hand washed the hem and layers of tulle. This gown is too delicate to dry clean, and dry cleaning was not necessary for the few water marks along the lining.
This was the most comfortable gown, I never wanted to take it off! It is absolutely stunning and well made, but delicate as the finest of materials were used to create it.
I am 5'4", 96 lbs. I am typically a 00, very petite, so I had a bit of room in the gown but did not want to alter the bodice or waist due to time constraints. I tried to gain a bit of weight leading up to the wedding but the gown fit anyway just a bit loose on my breast and waist, it will fit a true size 0 perfectly.
